All potential volunteers must schedule to attend a Volunteer Orientation. Volunteer Orientation is held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the HAAM Social Services building located at 1302 First St. in Humble. Please contact the volunteer coordinator prior to the orientation.
Our Junior Volunteer program is for students K-12. Many children volunteer at HAAM throughout the year. They are able to bring a youthful enthusiasm to the HAAM community. Listed are some important facts that you need to know regarding our Junior Volunteer Program. To help answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Junior Volunteers, we have listed them here.
DOES MY CHILD NEED TO ATTEND VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION?
No. Junior volunteers do not need to attend orientation.
MY PRE-K THRU 5TH GRADE CHILD WANTS TO VOLUNTEER, DO YOU HAVE ANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM?
The HAAM Client Service building including our food pantry and Resale Stores are not set up to have young children volunteering on site. We highly encourage you to take a look at our OFF-SITE PROJECTS and complete a project at home and schedule a time to come and visit HAAM together to drop it off. (There are some exceptions for special projects and some events.)
WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT FOR JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS?
Students must be 16 years or older to volunteer alone. Under the age of 16 they must be accompanied by an adult.
DO YOU ALLOW DROP-INS?
No. You must schedule a time for your child to volunteer. Drop-ins are not allowed. You must email the volunteer coordinator to schedule a time for your child.

IS THERE ANY REQUIRED PAPERWORK FOR MY CHILD TO VOLUNTEER?
Yes. Each junior volunteer must complete a JUNIOR VOLUNTEER APPLICATION as well as the adult application if the junior volunteer is under the age of sixteen. You can download this link on this web page. Please bring the application on the day of volunteering.
